How to convert large DOCX files
Large DOCX files often fail for predictable reasons: too many images, very large embedded files, or a document that is already near the upload limit.
The easiest fix is to reduce the file before conversion. Compress images, remove unused pages, and save a clean copy of the final document so the upload stays under the limit.
Try this workflow if your file is big:
- Check the file size before uploading.
- Compress images inside Word if possible.
- Split very long documents into smaller sections.
- Convert the final DOCX once, instead of retrying drafts.
If you are working with files near 10 MB or higher, these small changes can make the conversion much more reliable.
